About Listen UP - Abbeycare's Recovery Podcast
Listen Up is for those seeking recovery but feeling overwhelmed by conflicting advice and sanitised success stories.
Every person battling addiction wants to break free and reclaim their life.
But most end up cycling through repeated attempts and relapses because they're following generic advice and have no real world models to follow.
If this sounds familiar, you've probably tried self-help books, meetings, and online forums, but still haven't seen lasting results.
Here's Why:
Most people struggling with addiction focus on willpower and quick fixes rather than understanding the patterns underneath successful recovery.
Often, these aren't ground breaking new techniques but rather, more subtle aspects:
After 15 years of working directly with thousands of clients at Abbeycare, we discovered that behind every successful recovery story, are specific patterns, turning points, and practical tools that rarely get shared in traditional recovery settings.
If you want practical recovery strategies that others have already road tested, but you also struggle to take that first step toward lasting change, then this podcast is for you.
Who Are We?
Listen UP's Presenter Eddie Clarke is Abbeycare's Outreach Manager, and in long term recovery personally.
He's spent over 9 years helping hundreds through their own recovery, and identified the exact patterns that differentiate those who achieve lasting sobriety, from those who struggle.
What began as informal conversations with our successful clients, has grown into a library to help us all identify and share, what actually works in recovery.
Now, we're opening up everything we've learned, through real-world recovery stories.
