Regulatory Inspections & Reports
In Scotland, private rehabilitation clinics are classed as care homes by the regulatory body, the Care Inspectorate.
The Care Inspectorate complete both announced and unannounced visits and inspections of care facilities across Scotland, assessing on the standard of care they deliver.

Regulatory reports provide a balanced and impartial evaluation of service quality, by a qualified and independent third party.

Recovery Gathering
Abbeycare Scotland host an annual Recovery Gathering each Autumn – a day of recovery themed speakers, and a chance to reconnect again, with those we’ve helped.
Former clients are invited back each year where we can share the best of our ongoing recovery journey together.
This is in addition to all our normal aftercare support.
Previous and existing clients automatically receive invitations to this event.
Recovery Walk
Abbeycare are privileged to be active trustees supporting FavorUK, in particular assisting in the annual Recovery Walk.
Scottish Drugs Forum
Addiction Worker Training Program
Abbeycare are a service provider for the Scottish Drugs Forum Addiction Worker Training Program, and work actively with SDF to provide on-the-job experience and addiction case management training to staff of this service.
Scottish Recovery Consortium
Abbeycare are active supporters and organisational and board members of the Scottish Recovery Consortium, working together to reduce drug misuse in Scotland, and collaborating on multiple projects including the Scottish Recovery Walk.

In England, private rehabilitation clinics are regulated by The Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The CQC are the independent regulating body of Abbeycare Newmarket, and as such assess the clinic and it’s care levels against uniform criteria, using the same benchmarks for all facilities.

The event is open for all previous and current clients, and is in addition to the all of the aftercare support arranged during your stay with us.

Feedback & Complaints
We take your feedback very seriously, for feedback on the service before becoming a client, please complete our Contact Form, and we’ll reply back to you, as soon as possible.
For complaints re any element of our service once you have become a client, you can find a copy of our complaints policy clearly labelled within your welcome pack, and within information folders freely distributed throughout all Abbeycare clinics.
How We Gather and Use Your Personal Information
In addition to the information provided to us directly, we may collect information relevant to your stay in a number of ways, for example from your own GP or any other medical specialist.
We use your personal information to help personalise your own treatment plan and ensure that your treatment with us is as safe and relaxed as possible.
We keep your personal information securely for as long as we need to following the completion of your treatment.
Our Products and Services
We need some personal information before we can consider providing you with a service. These can include medical reports and accepted forms of identification. In some cases, we will be unable to provide you with a service if we do not have all the information we require.
Sharing and Transferring Personal Information
Upon completion of your treatment, we may share your personal information including copies of a discharge report with your GP or any other relevant medical specialists. We do not share personal information with any other parties.
Your Consent
Sometimes we need your consent to use your personal information (for example when contacting your GP). We won’t always need consent to use your personal information – for example if we need it to meet regulatory requirements or to prepare your treatment contract. Where you have given consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time.
