You can ask us any question that comes to mind when you call us.
If you like what we offer and have decided to join us, you should be on the way to the clinic within 24-48 hours after the initial call.
It would take a short drive from Worcester to our clinic in The Hygrove, Gloucester.
Or, transport can be arranged for you, if needed (costs apply).
Note that we are not a referral service. There are no additional charges for accessing treatment at Abbeycare. The person who will answer your call will be from the Abbeycare admissions team direct.
How We Help You Get Better
Our staff will be expecting your arrival at our clinic at The Hygrove.
After settling in and making sure you are happy with your room, we need to do some medical checks before we begin the first step of your rehab stay.
The medically-assisted detox programme is a 24/7 supervised schedule that will successfully help you transition from an addicted state to a withdrawal state.
We aim to lessen the impact of the withdrawal symptoms by prescribing you adequate and safe medicines.
Nothing is worse than having to go through detox alone, so make sure to ask us if you feel any discomfort.
The most difficult time for detox is the first three days, and during that time, we will be there to monitor your progress closely.
It’s our job to make your detox experience a bit more comfortable, as negative experiences during detox affect how you will feel about alcohol recovery later.
Withdrawal can be tough, and we are here to help.
After detox, you slowly begin to join therapy sessions.
In the rehab clinic, you are encouraged to join as many sessions as you can.
Usually, there are two or three on-going group therapy sessions, individual sessions and holistic therapy sessions scheduled for each day.
Depending on your needs, you will gravitate towards certain types of therapies and therapists.
Work with who you are comfortable with, or who challenge you the most.
It is up to you to say who you want to work with, after all, you are in therapy to take control of your life.
About Home Detox
Abbeycare offers alcohol home detox for people who want to start their sober living process at home.
If going to a rehab centre is not an option, you can enquire about it during the initial call.
Be aware, though, that we have a stricter screening program for clients who want to do home detox.
Because our safety requirements are high, we firmly believe that detox should be closely monitored.
If you are going to do home detox, we want you to get the right amount of medication and care.
Rehab Treatment Aftercare
Rehab is just the beginning of your Sober Living journey.
After an intense immersion in a new way of life, the key to continuing your progress is to make an Aftercare plan.
Here at Abbeycare, we help you set up:
- Time and locations of mutual support group meetings
- Names and contact numbers of people you can call during challenging times
- A plan on how to deal with cravings
- A Stress Management Plan
- Steps to follow if you have a minor slip-up
- More specialist referral points and agency contacts, for those who require it, with (e.g.) additional mental health issues
- All of the above will be local to you, in Worcester
We believe that planning ahead increases the chance of success outside the rehab Worcester treatment centre.
As triggers are better handled if they are acknowledged, we will work together to thoroughly identify your stumbling blocks.
We will help you devise a list of triggers and an action plan on how to deal with triggers.
Part of our aftercare services is helping you establish connections, so you are not alone at your worst time.
We have links to Mutual Support Groups that you can access near your area.
