Meet Our London Team
Lisa Robertson Service Manager
Lisa has almost ten years’ experience working in the addiction field as well as providing therapy for issues such as domestic abuse, bereavement and working with families.
More recently Lisa manages and supports the Abbeycare Newmarket team ensuring a high quality of care.
Lisa has a Diploma in Counselling and a BA (Hons) Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy and has recently completed her Diploma in Management and Leadership.
Tony Pace Senior Therapist
Tony began his career in 1988 as a counsellor at the Cranston Project treatment centre in London, later moving on to the Red Admiral Project offering help, support and counselling to those affected by HIV and Aids.
After completing a diploma in psychotherapy he then spent a year training at the world acclaimed Clouds House in Wiltshire. Tony then joined the Rehabilitation for Addicted Prisoners Trust (RAPT) as a Senior Counsellor at HMP Wandsworth and HMP Downview, becoming manager of both programmes.
In 2000 Tony moved to Suffolk joining Focus12 as Clinical Manager and his contribution led this community-based service to become one of the UK’s leading providers of 12-step abstinent treatment.
After ten years at Focus12 Tony moved on and spent two years developing other UK based treatment centres and again spent a short time back at RAPT before joining Abbeycare, Tony has been at Abbeycare for 5 years as the senior therapist and manages the daily structure of the treatment program.
Tony knows: ‘if access to the right kind of help is gained, all alcoholics and drug addicts are able to recover and go on to live their life free from addiction’.
Arthur Nicholls Therapist
Arthur Nicholls Therapist Born in Trinidad West Indies, Arthur came to England in February 1990 where he was introduced to his career in substance misuse and working with addictions.
He has experienced a variety of treatment approaches from crisis intervention and outreach through to residential rehabilitation, gathering knowledge, skills and intervention experience essential to positions he has held.
Arthur has undergone training in family therapy at Clouds House treatment centre and has also completed training for a Diploma in Humanistic Counselling at Lewisham College south London and studied at the Royal College of Nursing, gaining a diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling. Arthur continues to embrace opportunities that allow him to broaden his skills necessary for providing essential support in his role.
Along with his contribution to working with addictions, Arthur has been passionate about family involvement in the treatment process which provides education and support vital in the healing process for all who have been affected through substance misuse.
LATEST INSPECTION REPORT
Abbeycare Newmarket Ltd is registered with the Care Quality Commission, the independent regulator of health and social care in England. We are registered to provide care and support for up to 14 people over the age of 18 who are experiencing alcohol/substance misuse difficulties.
The CQC are committed to carrying out inspections of regulated care services to provide members of the public with greater reassurance that we are inspecting on outcomes for people in services that are operating as they usually would.
Abbeycare Newmarket’s latest inspection was carried out in December 2015.
